The Orthodontics Laboratory 1 is one of the laboratories established since the inception of the Hospital and College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, as the orthodontics department is one of the essential departments in the field of dentistry.
Since its establishment, it was part of the Preventive Dentistry Department until it was separated in 2001 to become an independent department occupying the fourth floor of the Dental Hospital.
The total area of ​​the laboratory is 88 m², including several windows for ventilation and lighting.
The laboratory is managed by highly experienced and skilled professors and specialists to ensure the provision of a high-quality academic level befitting the mother university.

Vision: To provide the best educational services to undergraduate students.
Laboratory Objectives and Mission:
The objective of the laboratory is to prepare and train fourth-year students on the components of removable orthodontic appliances.
To teach students the mechanical specifications of removable orthodontic appliances.
To train students on bending orthodontic wires.
To train students on making a complete removable orthodontic appliance.
Laboratory Structure
The laboratory is located on the fourth floor of the teaching hospital building of the College of Dentistry, with an area of ​​(4*6) m² and a capacity of up to 30 students. The laboratory design supports evacuation in emergency situations, as it contains an emergency exit to facilitate the evacuation of students.
The laboratory is managed by Prof. Dr. Dhia Hussein Abdul Aoun and consists of five people (schedule for one day of the week):

The laboratory is managed by highly experienced and skilled professors, ensuring the provision of a high level of academic excellence befitting the mother university.
Vision, Mission, and Objectives of the Laboratory
Vision:
To provide the best educational services to undergraduate and postgraduate students and to provide the best treatment services to patients with high quality and in a short time.
Mission:
The mission of Orthodontics Laboratory 2 is to provide quality performance and fast services, offering the best and most advanced treatment services to patients under the supervision of competent instructors.
Objectives:
The objective of the laboratory is to prepare and train fifth-year students on the components of removable orthodontic appliances.
To teach students the mechanical specifications of removable orthodontic appliances.
To train students in bending orthodontic wires.
To train students in making a complete removable orthodontic appliance.
To train postgraduate students in bending stainless steel wires for fixed orthodontic appliances to enable them to treat patients in a sound and scientific manner.
To manufacture removable and clear orthodontic appliances for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and to manufacture supporting orthodontic appliances for fixed orthodontics for postgraduate students, in addition to making standard dental models. Laboratory Structure:
The laboratory is located on the fourth floor of the hospital building, covering an area of ​​5.6 x 8.01 m², with a capacity for up to 10 students.
The laboratory management consists of three individuals:
