{"id":3055,"date":"2024-10-02T06:40:19","date_gmt":"2024-10-02T06:40:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.codental.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=3055"},"modified":"2024-10-02T06:40:19","modified_gmt":"2024-10-02T06:40:19","slug":"a-staff-member-publish-research-in-q1-scopus-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.codental.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=3055","title":{"rendered":"A staff member publish research in Q1 Scopus journal."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The research titled (Absent in Melanoma 2 Gene Associated Periodontitis and Coronary Heart Disease) was published by\u00a0 Prof. Dr. Batool Hassan Hashim and her PhD student Zeina Ali Daili at the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad, Department at Basic Sciences in the F1OOOResearch journal in the United Kingdom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The study aimed to study the association between AIM2 gene polymorphisms and the tendency for periodontal infection and coronary heart disease, and to determine whether males or females are more susceptible to these diseases. Additionally, to xamine its association with the features of periodontal disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The study included enrolling 140 patients in this study, and the participants were divided into four groups as follows: healthy, gum disease, coronary heart disease with healthy gums, and coronary heart disease with gum disease. Information related to the participants was documented, including age, gender, body mass index, and indicators of gum disease severity.\u00a0 Blood samples were collected, and AIM2 gene polymorphisms were assessed by PCR, gel phase, and gene sequencing. The study found that increased allelic (T) and genotype (GT, TT) frequencies of AIM2 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are associated with increased susceptibility to developing periodontal disease and coronary heart disease.
