Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a symposium entitled (Immunohistochemical appearance of salivary gland tumors). It was delivered by M.M. Fatima Jalil Ismail and M.M. Nour Sami Alawi. In the presence of a number of faculty members and employees of the college.<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim of the symposium: To identify the importance of immunohistochemical stains in diagnosing tumors that have a similar appearance to normal stains and to identify how to interpret the results of these stains.<\/span><\/p>\n

The symposium included a display of histological images of many types of salivary gland tumors and an explanation of the types of stains for each type of these tumors, with an explanation and clarification of the differences in immune expression that help in diagnosing the type of tumor.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>The researchers at the symposium called for the necessity of training histological diagnosis specialists and postgraduate students to diagnose salivary gland tumors using immunostains and to pay attention to the necessity of continuously reviewing the updates that occur in the criteria for histological diagnosis and immunostains for salivary gland tumors.<\/span><\/p>\n
