{"id":4894,"date":"2026-02-12T10:13:36","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T10:13:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.codental.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=4894"},"modified":"2026-02-12T10:13:36","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T10:13:36","slug":"college-of-dentistry-organizes-a-seminar-on-drugs-a-menace-that-destroys-society","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.codental.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=4894","title":{"rendered":"College of Dentistry Organizes a Seminar on \u201cDrugs: A Menace That Destroys Society\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Mohammed,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, through the University Psychological Counseling Unit, organized a seminar entitled \u201cDrugs: A Menace That Destroys Society.\u201d The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hala Mohammed Jasim and attended by a number of college students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The seminar aimed to enhance awareness of the dangers of drug abuse and to highlight its health, psychological, and social consequences, in addition to guiding preventive and protective measures and activating the role of institutions in confronting this serious phenomenon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The seminar included several key topics, most notably:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">1. Health impact: Explaining the effects of drugs on body systems and the dangers of addiction.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">2. Psychological impact: Discussing the psychological and behavioral disorders resulting from drug abuse.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">3. Social impact: Clarifying the effects of drugs on the family and society and their role in increasing crime rates.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">4. Awareness and prevention: The role of media institutions in spreading awareness.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">5. Legal aspect: Introducing legal penalties and the efforts of security agencies to limit this phenomenon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The seminar recommended the necessity of:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">1. Intensifying awareness campaigns among students and youth.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">2. Supporting addiction treatment programs and the reintegration of recovering individuals.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">3. Enhancing cooperation among health, educational, and security institutions.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">4. Strengthening legal measures to reduce the spread of drugs.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">5.
