Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a training workshop entitled \u201cIntra-Articular Injection of PRP and Hyaluronic Acid for Patients with Temporomandibular Joint Osteoarthritis.\u201d<\/p>\n
The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Amina Raihan Duaijil and PhD candidate Saba Radi, and was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students of the College.<\/p>\n
The workshop aimed to compare two treatment methods for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) osteoarthritis: Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections and hyaluronic acid injections.<\/p>\n
The workshop included several key topics, such as:
\n\u2022 An overview of TMJ osteoarthritis, including its causes, symptoms, and associated complications.
\n\u2022 Common treatment approaches for the condition.
\n\u2022 A comparison between PRP and hyaluronic acid in terms of their therapeutic advantages, strengths, and limitations.<\/p>\n
The presenters emphasized the importance of treating TMJ osteoarthritis, identifying effective therapeutic methods, and conducting further research to compare the efficacy of different treatment modalities.<\/p>\n
