<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul-Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled “Cell Membrane Transport.” The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Khalid Hamdan Ghathwan and attended by a number of faculty members.<\/p>\n
The workshop aimed to introduce the mechanism of cell membrane transport as a fundamental biological process and to explain its role in regulating the cell’s internal balance. This contributes to understanding normal cellular functions and their impact on cell and tissue health.<\/p>\n
The workshop also covered several topics, including a comprehensive description of the cell and its structure, highlighting the components of the cell membrane, its composition, and its vital function in protecting the cell and regulating its interactions with the external environment. Furthermore, it explained the mechanism of ion and substance transport to and from the cell, and described the types of transport across the cell membrane, including passive and active transport. The workshop also addressed the role of transport channels and proteins in maintaining the cell’s ionic and functional balance.<\/p>\n
The workshop recommended emphasizing the importance of studying and understanding transport mechanisms across the cell membrane, as these are fundamental cellular processes that regulate the entry and exit of substances, including ions, water, and excretory materials. This plays a pivotal role in maintaining cellular homeostasis and ensuring the continuity of vital processes within the cell. The workshop also recommended integrating this knowledge into scientific research and medical studies, and promoting its inclusion in academic curricula due to its direct impact on explaining numerous pathological and functional phenomena at the cellular level.<\/p>\n
