{"id":613,"date":"2022-09-24T11:01:45","date_gmt":"2022-09-24T11:01:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.codental.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=613"},"modified":"2023-05-26T18:36:04","modified_gmt":"2023-05-26T18:36:04","slug":"assistant-professor-published-scientific-research-in-scopus-q1-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.codental.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=613","title":{"rendered":"Assistant Professor published scientific research in Scopus Q1 journal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Assistant Professor Dr Yassir Abdel-Kazim a teaching staff at the College of Dentistry\/ University of Baghdad, and MSc. student Rawof R Al Tuma published scientific research in Scopus Q1 journal.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The research entitled \u2018\u2019Effect of calcium fluoride nanoparticles in prevention of demineralization during orthodontic fixed appliance treatment: a randomized clinical trial\u2019\u2019. The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of calcium fluoride nanoparticles-containing orthodontic primer (nCaF2-primer) in preventing the incidence of WSLs during orthodontic treatment.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">A new orthodontic adhesive primer with a concentration of 20% calcium fluoride nanoparticles (nCaF2-primer) was selected to be evaluated in a randomized clinical trial. The sample included 31 orthodontic patients. The patients were involved using randomization. Outcome measures included comparing the effect of orthodontic nCaF2-primer containing calcium fluoride nanoparticles with the orthodontic adhesive primer named (Transbond XT\u2122) regarding the degree of demineralization (DIAGNOdent pen), Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) bacterial counting [real-time polymerase chain reaction device (PCR)], and WSLs incidence (pre- and post-operative photographs).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">nCaF2-primer effectively decreased demineralization scores within the 6 months after bracket bonding. Moreover, it significantly reduced S. mutans colonization after the first month.
