The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a training course entitled (Genetic Analysis of Single Mutations by High-Resolution Thermal Analysis). It was presented by Prof. Dr. Ban Fadel and Zahraa Ali.
The course aimed to explain one of the modern methods of genetic analysis and encouraged researchers to get benefit from it in their future research.
The course included the following topics:
1. – Definition of single mutations, their applications and methods of analysis
2. Introduction to high-precision thermal analysis, its applications and benefits
3. Steps of genetic analysis of single mutations by high-resolution thermal analysis
4. Sample preparation
5. Primer design
6. Turn on the genetic analysis machine
7. Install the program
8. Analyzing the samples and reading the results.
The workshop presented the advantages of the test:
1. Ease of use and can be used by non-professionals researchers .
2. Short time is required as it can be used for 100 samples at the same time.
3. The material cost is less than other types.
4. The device does not need an installation company and can be moved easily due to its small size (12 kg)
