A report on the achievement of the College of Dentistry in the implementation of the electronic educational platform program for the Google.

Courses had been done for the teaching staff of the scientific departments on the use of educational platforms and their role in university performance evaluation

Work was directed by the Dean of the College of Dentistry professor Dr. Hussain Faisal Al-Huwaizi (Chairman of the Committee for the implementation of e-learning) with full support to overcome difficulties during implementation.

In cooperation with Ibn Sina Center for e-Learning, an e-mail account was provided for each student and the teaching staff, and follow-up the implementation, as well as getting benefit from the experience of the Center gained in his participation in the e-learning platforms in Iranian and Iraqi universities with the support of the European Union.

The number of virtual class rooms created in the last years was 29.

The number of the registered students in the virtual classrooms was 2195.

After doing courses for the teaching staff by direct supervision from the dean of the college of dentistry, 50 new virtual classrooms were created with a total number of registered students of 4920 while the number of the registered teaching staff was 307.

The total number of the virtual classrooms since the implementation of the e-learning platform in our college is 79 with 7115 registered student.

 

Causes of success

The Support, encourage and supervision from the dean of the college (professor Dr. Hussain Faisal Al-Huwaizi) and the assistant dean (Assistant professor Dr. Raghad Al-Hashimi).

Creating support groups (viber and whatsapp) for the teaching staff to help them register in the platform.

Creating support groups for the students, a group for each grade. Five groups were created.

 

Steps:

  1. Courses were done for the teaching staff by direct supervision from the dean of the college; the lectures were given by Dr. Ihsan Sadiq Mohammed, the lectures include information about the importance and the benefits of the e-learning platform.

  1. A meeting was done between the students of the third grade of the college and the teaching staff to explain the benefits of the platform.
  2. A meeting was done for the students of the second grade of the college to explain the benefits of the platform.

Provide internet in the college to facilitate doing the e-exams through the platform
