The program aims:
The aim of this program is to produce a caring, knowledgeable, competent and skillful dentist who is able on graduation, to accept professional responsibility for the effective and safe care of patients in the field of prosthodontics , who appreciates the need for continuing professional development, who is able to adapt to and utilize advances in relevant knowledge and techniques and who understands the role of patients in decision making.
The program also aims to prepare and equip students with a range of professional skills required to work as part of a prosthodontic team in collaboration with maxillofacial surgeon.
Characteristics of Graduates:
1. Able to treat all complicated cases of complete and partial dentures in addition to Cr-Co RPD.
2. Able to treat all cases of maxillofacial prosthesis and baby feeding appliance.
3. Able to treat all cases of dental implant treatment.
4. Able to treat full mouth rehabilitation cases.

MSc program in Orthodontics at the College of Dentistry/ University of Baghdad

This is a full-time two years program including theoretical and practical elements i.e lab based and clinical based. It also includes a research session with teaching and personal treatment formulation to patients in addition to diagnostic and new patient clinic.

The teaching at the department of Orthodontics is evidence based and comprises of lectures, seminars, case reports and research.

Most of the previous graduates had their research published in a peer reviewed journals and had won national and international prizes.

At the end of this program students have the necessary knowledge to formulate treatment planning for cases with different treatment complexities and be able to treat those with mild and moderate type of malocclusion, have the communication skill and the competency to manage those patients in different circumstances i.e. multidisciplinary team approach.
