Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdel-Razzaq Muhammad Al-Muhammad the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a continuing education course on Helicobacter pylori infection.
The course included the following topics:
1- the general characteristics of bacteria, including the structure of the bacterial cell and the most important biological and biochemical properties.
2- the bacterial pathogenicity and the laboratory diagnostic methods.
3- the immunological perspective on bacterial infection.
4- the medications available to treat the infection and the mechanism of action of these medications on bacteria.
The course recommended: the necessity of adhering to healthy nutrition , and the necessity of seeing a doctor to avoid the occurrence of complications that could be life threatening.
