Under the patronage of the Honorable President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, the respected Professor Dr. Raghad Abdel-Razzaq Muhammad, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized the sixteenth scientific postgraduate conference under the title “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry” and in the presence of a representative of the University of Baghdad, the esteemed Professor Dr. Amin Alwani, Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, and the Chairman of the Health and Environment Committee, the esteemed Dr. Majid Shankali, and a number of deans of colleges, faculty members, and graduate students.
The conference included a number of diverse activities that opened with verses from the Holy Quran and the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah, out of mercy for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq and Palestine. The opening also included listening to the national anthem and the anthem of the University of Baghdad, in addition to showing a documentary film that sheds light on the achievements of the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad.
The honorable Chairman of the Conference, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al Hashimi, gave a speech in which he discussed the importance of the conference in enhancing communication and interaction between professors and postgraduate students at the College of Dentistry, and pointed out the vital role of artificial intelligence in developing dentistry.
The Dean of the College discussed Iraq’s historic achievement in entering the Shanghai classification for dental specialization and praised the academic excellence through the prestigious ranks occupied by the College of Dentistry in international classifications, which reflects the continuous efforts to improve the level of education and research in the field of dentistry, which contributes to raising the level of health care in Iraq.
Professor Dr. Amin Al-Alwani delivered a speech on behalf of the respected President of the University of Baghdad, in which he addressed the college’s ancient history, its contributions to community service, and its achievements in the field of scientific research in dentistry. Dr. Al-Alwani emphasized the great development that the college has witnessed in recent years, with many applications running on artificial intelligence, pointing to the college’s entry into the Shanghai World Classification, highlighting the quality of education and scientific research and its role as a prestigious institution. He concluded by praising the efforts made by the researchers, participants, and those in charge of the conference.
The conference also witnessed the honoring of a number of attendees in recognition of their distinguished contributions to the field of dentistry. The representative of the President of the University of Baghdad opened the exhibition of scientific companies specialized in dentistry.
This was followed by a curriculum of specialized scientific lectures for postgraduate students, where many scientific research and productions were presented, in addition to an exhibition of scientific posters. These events embody scientific progress and effective communication in the field of dentistry.
The conference aimed to advance the scientific and research aspects of dentistry to the highest standards of leadership and academic excellence, while activating the role of scientific research and stimulating innovation and exchanging experiences. The goal is also to present the latest scientific findings to postgraduate students at the College of Dentistry, with a focus on achieving sustainable development and enhancing the quality of health services in this field.
The conference included a number of topics related to specialized research in the field of artificial intelligence and its applications in dentistry, covering various specialties, including:
