The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad held a ceremony to recite the medical oath for graduates of the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad, for graduates of session (66) for the academic year 2022-2023 under the slogan (Al-Aqsa Flood) on Thursday, February 1, 2024, in the Great Conference Hall. In the presence of the President of the University of Baghdad, representing the Honorable Minister of Higher Education, the Honorable President of the Iraqi Council for Medical Specialties, the Honorable Head of the union of Dentists, the Honorable Head of the Iraqi Pharmacists union, and the Honorable Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad.
The ceremony opened with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and Surah Al-Fatihah, as a tribute to the souls of the martyrs of Iraq and Palestine, followed by the national anthem. The ceremony witnessed the showing of a documentary film highlighting the college’s achievements.
The Honorable President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ansaf, delivered a congratulatory speech in which he praised the efforts of the students during the five years and their future role in facing challenges, achieving success, and adhering to the ethics and principles of medicine in service to society and building Iraq. Appreciating the efforts made by the teaching staff to create a generation that possesses the knowledge and skills required to achieve this success.
In a speech to the respected Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al Hashemi, he spoke about the college’s role in providing an optimal educational environment and distinguished academic programs that follow the highest standards of quality and scientific research to prepare highly qualified graduates committed to providing therapeutic services to meet the needs of society. He also pointed out the various achievements of the college, from developing the infrastructure to the college’s entry into the Shanghai World Classification and the first dental college in Iraq obtaining full national accreditation, in addition to the entry of the college’s magazine, “Baghdad College of Dentistry Magazine,” into the global Scopus database.
The President of the Dentists union gave a speech in which he talked about the role of the union in serving the community and its direct communication with all groups in the field of dentistry. Mentioning the importance of courses and seminars that contribute to raising and distinguishing the level of the doctor and his dealings with patients, stressing to the graduate students that they are the soul and future of building Iraq.
Meanwhile, graduate Maryam Hilal gave a speech in which she spoke on behalf of her fellow graduates of this course, in which she expressed her feelings of pride of the five-year journey of research and effort to acquire knowledge. She extended her thanks to the honorable dean, the teaching staff, and the college staff who contributed to providing Doors to the Future, and praised the care of their families l.A number of respected figures were honored by distributing shields in recognition of their efforts in supporting and developing the College of Dentistry. The attendees expressed their pride in the great successes achieved by the College in the field of higher education and scientific research.
The Director of Registration, Dr. Hassanein Qahtan Abdel Khaleq, kindly announced the university order for graduation and awarded them a bachelor’s degree in oral and dental medicine and surgery, followed by the reciting of the medical oath by the graduates. At the conclusion of the ceremony, gifts were distributed to the top graduates.
