The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a continuing education course entitled Various clinical aspects related to pregnancy. In the presence of several faculty members at the college.
The course aims to provide a sound knowledge of expected maternal changes to enable accurate interpretation of physiological and laboratory parameters. This allows for robust care planning to be carried out with the aim of reducing potential complications.
The course also included several topics that addressed the physiology of pregnancy, anemia, diabetes, and blood pressure during pregnancy, as well as the changes that occur in the teeth and gingiva during pregnancy, and how to take care of the health of the body and mouth during that period.
In the course, the researchers called for the need for pregnant women to pay attention to the type of food and maintain the safety of the body and teeth to avoid complications that appear during pregnancy, including anemia, tooth loss, and high blood sugar.
