Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdel-Razzaq Muhammad
The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, Department of Media and Government Communication, in cooperation with the Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry Branch, organized a symposium entitled Illegal immigration and its impact on individuals, delivered by assistant professor. Dr.. Maha Faisal Ahmed and assistant Professor Aseel Haider Muhammad, in the presence of a number of college staff.
The symposium aimed to educate individuals about the dimensions of illegal immigration and discuss ways to confront it effectively.
The symposium also included topics that addressed:
1. Definition of illegal immigration.
2. Reasons for migration.
3. The effects of migration on individuals and societies.
4. Legal and security challenges.
5. Solutions to reduce illegal immigration.
The symposium recommended:
1. Enhancing education and job opportunities by providing better educational and job opportunities for individuals in their countries to reduce the motivation behind searching for a better life outside their countries.
2. International cooperation to confront the roots of the migration problem, including combating corruption and promoting sustainable development.
3. Improving living conditions by supporting economic and social development programs in affected areas to improve living conditions.
4. Tightening border controls to reduce the circulation of illegal immigration and avoid security risks.
5. Supporting awareness and education campaigns for individuals about the dangers and consequences of illegal immigration.
6. Strengthening legislation and refugee rights and providing mechanisms to seek international protection.
