The Ibn Sina E-Learning Unit was established following a university directive as part of the organizational structure of the College of Dentistry. It is administratively linked to the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs.

Unit Objectives:

  • Promote the culture of e-learning within the college.
  • Assist faculty members in developing and converting their courses into electronic formats.
  • Coordinate regularly with the Continuing Education Units to organize courses and workshops for faculty members.

Unit Responsibilities:

  • Manage, update, and maintain the interactive website.
  • Train students on how to use the website.
  • Train and assist faculty members in using educational platforms.
  • Oversee the completion of activities such as administering electronic exams, opening platforms for dialogue and discussion between students and professors, uploading research papers and reports, posting lectures, and conducting surveys.
  • Facilitate communication between students and professors.
  • Organize regular workshops to train professors and use the website to provide instructional lessons and educational guides needed by faculty (scientific and research sites, mechanisms for organizing supervisors and distributing students) as well as general lectures given by professors and some extracurricular student activities, such as cultural magazines.
  • Attend seminars, workshops, discussion panels, and conferences related to e-learning, held at the Ibn Sina Center at the University of Baghdad.
  • Follow up on the activities of the ministerial e-learning team under the Directorate of Research and Development at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and relay updates to the college.
  • Publish the unit’s activities on the college’s website.
