Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashemi, and under the supervision of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit.
The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized the first stage reception festival. The festival was attended by the Dean of the College, his assistants, and heads of branches, in addition to students and faculty members of the college.
The festival included a variety of events and activities. The opening ceremony began with the national anthem and the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah in commemoration of the souls of the martyrs, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the screening of an introductory film about the college, reviewing the history of the college and the challenges of students.
On this occasion, the Dean of the College of Dentistry delivered a welcoming speech in which he stressed the support of the college’s deanship for students and encouraging them to achieve their academic goals and provide a stimulating educational environment, praising the distinguished training programs to give them the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge in the field of dentistry. He praised the achievements of the college at the level of academic scientific excellence and infrastructure. Mentioning the importance of adhering to the college’s instructions and the directives of its deanship, he also stressed the importance of having a spirit of cooperation and love among students in order to enhance a fruitful educational environment that achieves mutual success.
A number of dentists gave a presentation on the history of dentistry in addition to the establishment of the college and its achievements, and explained the scientific branches and subjects of the first stage.
In a step aimed at enhancing an integrated educational environment that contributes to the academic and psychological development of students, professor Zainab Abdul Jabbar, Head of the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit, gave a speech in which she discussed the concept of rehabilitation and the mechanisms of the unit’s work within the college. She explained that the unit seeks to equip students with labor market skills through specialized training programs and workshops that contribute to refining their capabilities and preparing them for a promising professional future.
Lecturer. Mona Abdullah Salim, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, gave a speech in which she focused on the importance of the unit in providing psychological and educational support to students. She emphasized the fundamental role of the unit in helping students face psychological and educational challenges, and enhancing their ability to overcome life pressures through scientific strategies and specialized consultations aimed at achieving psychological balance and enhancing academic performance.
These initiatives come within the framework of the college’s keenness to provide a comprehensive educational environment that is concerned with developing the student on both the personal and professional levels, and seeks to create a generation of distinguished graduates capable of facing challenges and achieving success in their academic and professional careers. In conclusion, the college’s deanship wishes the students a start to their studies full of fruitful challenges and wonderful achievements to become experts in the field of dentistry and effective contributors to serving the community.
