Researcher Assistant Professor Yasser Reda Abdul Hussein Al-Labban, a lecturer in the Department of Orthodontics at the College of Dentistry – University of Baghdad, obtained a patent registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for his ability to invent a multi-property trans-uvular strip.

The patent is used in the treatment of orthodontic patients and jaw occlusion deformities.

The patent included the use of resins and orthodontic wires to manufacture it, which eliminates the need to take impressions or molds for the patient and employs light fillings in an innovative and unconventional way.

The invention is a breakthrough in orthodontic techniques as it is faster and less expensive compared to modern digital technologies such as (CAD CAM), which contributes to facilitating treatment procedures and providing innovative solutions for patients.

The invention aims to provide effective and affordable solutions in the field of orthodontics, which contributes to improving the quality of treatment and reducing material costs and effort expended by doctors and patients alike, in addition to accelerating treatment processes using more efficient techniques.
