Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad / Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit organized a workshop entitled “Duty of a Resident Dentist” presented by A.L. Hiba Khazal and attended by a number of college students.
The aim of the workshop was to introduce students to the duties required of a resident dentist, as residency is a basic period and the first important stage of his qualification to be a successful doctor, in which he exercises his powers under the supervision of senior doctors such as specialist dentists.
The workshop also included several axes, the most important of which was identifying the most important duties of a resident dentist in health centers, which include examining, diagnosing and treating all diseases and problems related to the teeth, gums and jaw according to the latest protocols, and obtaining a comprehensive assessment of oral and dental health, in addition to receiving education about oral and dental health and what meets the patient’s special needs, and treating emergency cases during clinic working hours with priority given to relieving pain and swelling.
The workshop recommended taking into account the patient’s rights, not delaying his appointment, and choosing the appropriate treatment for him.
