Professor Dr. Abdal-Basit Ahmed Fatihallah, a teaching professor at the College of Dentistry / University of Baghdad, has been granted a patent for his ability to manufacture an alloy of magnesium metal after addition of other materials to strengthen and improve its characteristics, which are used as implants inside the living body, whether as dental implants or as implants at other body parts.
The patent aims to develop magnesium metal and introduce materials and additives such as zirconium and boron to strengthen and improve its properties as it is susceptible to rust.
The patent was granted by the Central organization for Standardization and Quality Control in the Ministry of Planning.
