Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul-Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar entitled “Understanding and Treating Common Digestive Side Effects of Analgesics.” The seminar was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Noor Raouf Al-Hassani and attended by several faculty members.
The seminar aimed to introduce the most common types of analgesics and their digestive side effects.
The seminar covered the following topics:
1- The concept of the most common analgesics and their effect on the digestive system.
2- Digestive side effects of analgesics.
3- Identifying risk factors that increase the likelihood of side effects.
4- Methods of preventing and treating side effects.
The seminar recommended the following:
1- Understanding the causes of pain and its treatment. 2. Use painkillers only under medical supervision.
3. Use painkillers only when absolutely necessary.
4. Take preventative measures to protect against gastrointestinal side effects.
