Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Raghad Abdul-Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop titled “University Teaching Methods: Approaches and Techniques Used,” delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Sabti Mutlak, with the attendance of a number of the college’s faculty members and staff.

The workshop aimed to clarify the difference between teaching and learning, identify university-level teaching methods that can be adopted during lectures, and highlight the most suitable modern instructional approaches.

The workshop covered several key topics, including:
• The concept of university teaching methods
• Types of teaching approaches
• Teaching challenges and ways to overcome them
• Identifying the approaches used in university teaching

Workshop Recommendations:
The workshop emphasized the importance of:
1. Using modern teaching methods while maintaining effective traditional and contemporary approaches.
2. Encouraging instructors to employ diverse and comprehensive teaching strategies that fully cover the course material.
3. Organizing training workshops to explain and keep pace with modern university teaching techniques.
