Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul-Razzaq Mohammed,
The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, through its Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit, organized a workshop entitled “Dental Ethics.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Hiba Khazal Mahmoud and attended by a number of graduates.

The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the fundamental principles of dental ethics, including the importance of fostering trust between dentist and patient, upholding the dignity of the profession, and providing treatment with the highest level of integrity and responsibility. The workshop also covered several key principles of dental ethics, including respecting the patient and their dignity, treating all patients with respect regardless of age, gender, race, religion, or social status, ensuring the patient’s psychological and physical comfort before, during, and after treatment, avoiding any inappropriate or discriminatory behavior, maintaining the complete confidentiality of the patient’s medical and personal information, and not sharing any data except with the patient’s explicit consent or for legal necessity.

The workshop emphasized the importance of adhering to proper conduct and principles, as dentistry is not merely a set of written rules, but a daily practice that reflects the dentist’s conscience and commitment to serving humanity. By adhering to these principles, dentists maintain the trust of their patients and provide high-quality healthcare.
