Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Ali Ismail Ibrahim.
The College held the second meeting of its Industrial Advisory Council, attended by the Vice Deans, the Heads of the Orthodontics and Restorative Dentistry Departments, the Head of the Career Development and Employment Unit, and representatives from private sector companies.
The meeting addressed several important topics, primarily updating the curriculum to keep pace with scientific and professional advancements and align it with labor market demands. It also discussed supporting the University’s efforts to adopt the concept of a productive university and a knowledge-based economy.
The meeting further explored mechanisms for integrating digital dentistry applications and artificial intelligence technologies into the curriculum. This integration will be achieved through theoretical lectures and practical training, contributing to the development of students’ technical skills and preparing them to keep abreast of the latest developments in dental practice.
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance the practical and clinical experience of the college’s students and graduates by expanding training and qualification programs. This aims to strengthen their professional competencies and improve their readiness to integrate into the labor market. The meeting also explored opportunities for collaboration with private sector institutions to provide high-quality training opportunities that contribute to developing their skills and meet the healthcare institutions’ needs for qualified professionals.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean of the College expressed his appreciation to the attendees, commending the constructive visions, ideas, and proposals presented, which will contribute to developing the educational process and its outcomes, supporting the quality of education, and aligning it with development needs and the labor market.
