Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad/Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit organized a symposium entitled “The Impact of E-Smoking on Youth.” The symposium was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ferial Mahmoud Abdul Redha and attended by a number of college students.

The symposium aimed to inform participants about the harmful effects of e-smoking on youth health, particularly oral health, as well as the significant health, psychological, social, environmental, and economic consequences it causes. It has been considered an epidemic that threatens societies, especially young people.

The symposium also included several topics, including:

• Causes of e-smoking and developing appropriate solutions.

• Treatment and mitigation of the harms of e-smoking.

• The impact of e-smoking on memory and educational attainment.

• The health, psychological, and social harms of e-smoking.

 The symposium recommended the importance of urging young people to avoid all forms of smoking, as well as developing guidance and awareness programmes to reduce the phenomenon of e-smoking.
