Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad / Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit organized a workshop entitled: Simulation-Based Testing (Importance, Types, Risks, and Challenges) as part of the National Strategy for Education and Higher Education (2022-2031). The workshop was delivered by Asst. M. Eman Amer and attended by a number of college students.
The objectives of the workshop were:
• To improve learner proficiency in a safe and controlled environment.
• To provide an interactive and practical experience without the need for significant real-world resources.
• To reduce errors in real-world practice through repeated training.
• To promote problem-based learning and decision-making.
The workshop also included topics such as:
1. Educational and technical design of simulation.
2. Performance-based assessment methodology.
3. Interactive learning environment.
4. Integrating virtual reality and artificial intelligence.
5. Training and qualifying human resources.
The workshop recommended:
• Investing in the technical infrastructure to develop simulation systems.
• Integrating simulation into educational and training plans in a systematic manner.
• Building partnerships with technology companies specializing in developing educational simulators.
