Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghd Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar entitled “Food Preservation: A Means to a Healthy Body.” The seminar was delivered by Prof. Dr. Fadia Abdul Mohsen and attended by a number of the college’s faculty members.
The seminar aimed to introduce the concept of food preservation and the methods that maintain the natural properties of food without affecting its color, taste, or smell.
The seminar included several topics that provided a comprehensive explanation of the importance and benefits of food preservation. It also addressed the causes of food spoilage, the proper methods for storing and preserving food, and clarified the most common mistakes in food storage.
The seminar recommended raising awareness on how to properly preserve food by following the latest storage methods to reduce food contamination and emphasizing the importance of checking expiration dates of food products available in markets.
