Under the patronage of the respected Dean of the College of Dentistry, Ali Ismail Ibrahim, the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad organized a continuing education course entitled “Principles and Practices of Modern Orthodontics,” attended by a number of the college’s faculty members.

The course included several topics, most notably :

• Modern concepts and practices in orthodontics.
• Clinical decision-making in the use of orthodontic elastics.
• Applications of digital orthodontics and 3D imaging techniques.
• Fundamentals of scientific research and conducting clinical trials in orthodontics.
• The impact of social media on professional practice and medical information.
• Distinguishing accurate scientific information from misleading content.

The course recommended the following:

• Adopting modern scientific methods in diagnosing and treating orthodontic cases.
• Enhancing clinical analysis skills and making appropriate treatment decisions.
• Focusing on digital technologies to keep pace with developments in the field of orthodontics.
• Encouraging scientific research and academic publishing in orthodontics.
• Ensuring accuracy when publishing medical information on social media platforms.
