Under the supervision of the Dean of College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdel Razzaq Muhammad, the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop which was presented by Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs Prof. Ali Ismail Al-Bustani, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Nour Raouf Al-Hasani, which was attended by staff members and postgraduate students.
The workshop aimed to train teaching staff and researchers about the mechanism adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in evaluating journals, whether they are accredited or not (being predatory, hijacked, or commercial).
The presenters demonstrated the required steps in determining the reliability of the journals.
The recommendation of the workshop was that high professionalism and caution should be considered by researchers in selecting the scientific journal for publishing their work.
