Under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and with the support of the Respected President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Raghad Abdel-Razzaq Muhammad, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized the twenty-third international scientific conference under the slogan (Modern Dentistry: Towards Excellence and Creativity). The conference was attended by the respected President of the University of Baghdad, the representative of the Minister of Health, Dr. Abbas Sabah Al-Hamiri, the Professor Dr. Yassin Al-Ithawi, the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee and large number of teaching staff and dentists.
The conference started by the opening ceremony that included verses from the Holy Quran, listening to the national anthem, reading Surat Al-Fatihah, as well as listening to the anthem of the University of Baghdad. It also included the presentation of an introductory film for the conference.
The President of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Raghad Abdel Razzaq Muhammad, delivered his speech in which he presented the achievements of the college and the stages of development that included all branches of the college.
The Dean Assistant for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Professor Dr. Ali Al-Bustani, gave a welcoming speech to the guests from outside Iraq and their active participation in this scientific conference.
Then the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, delivered his speech
On the sidelines, the exhibition of medical devices was opened.
The goals of the conference included:
• Presentation of the latest scientific outputs.
• Exchanging experiences with lecturers from various international universities and getting acquainted with modern technologies in dental sciences
• Developing the scientific, research and academic capabilities of students, researchers and teaching staff according to the latest developments.
The conference included Research developments in various dental specialties, including:
• Oral and Maxillofacial surgery
• Prostheses and dental implants
• Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry
• Orthodontics
• Conservative and Aesthetic Dentistry
• Periodontology.
Oral diagnosis and Oral pathology.
• Applications of artificial intelligence in dental sciences
• Basic sciences related to dentistry
The conference recommended:
1. Activating cooperation with the private sector, which has an important role in developing the dental profession.
2. Activating international partnerships and developing relations between the Iraqi researchers and international research.
3. Studying the applications of artificial intelligence in various dental sciences.
4. Call for the application of digital techniques in different dental specialties.
