Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdel-Razzaq Mohammad, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a continuing education course entitled: Optical coherence tomography in prosthodontics, in the presence of a number of faculty members at the college.
The course aimed to introduce the applications of optical coherence tomography (OCT), a method of “seeing things from the inside” without destroying them, and its use in aspects ranging from materials science to medicine. This course also focused on the biomedical application of OCT in dentistry, especially the dental industry , covering topics from dental materials to clinical applications of prosthetics.
The course included the basics and recent global developments of OCT in dentistry and prosthetics, including an overview of the method and its use in removable and fixed prosthetics, dental materials, and dental implants.
The course is of interest to both listeners new to the field as well as those already working in OCT, either in research or the clinic. It will be of great benefit in courses on optical imaging applied to biomedical areas, especially where it can provide real-life examples. For OCT application.
