Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled “Drugs, their definition, risks and harms”, delivered by Lecturer Dr. Zainab Ali Salman and attended by a number of faculty members and students in the college.
The aim of the workshop was to identify drugs and their risks to the individual and society.
The workshop also included topics that addressed:
1- What are drugs.
2- The risks and causes of the spread of drugs.
3- Their various harms to the individual and society.
The workshop recommended: There are many risks to drugs, which include psychological and health risks that have a clear impact on the stability of the country, as reflected by the individual who uses drugs in terms of harm to those around him. Different age groups, especially teenagers, must be made aware by holding a number of workshops, seminars and lectures, as well as raising awareness through various media outlets to highlight the dangers and harms of drugs.
