Under the patronage of the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Insaf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashemi.
The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad held a medical oath recitation ceremony for graduates of the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad, for graduates of the (67) session for the academic year 2023-2024 under the slogan “Science and Construction Cycle”. On Thursday, January 30, 2025, in the Grand Conference Hall. In the presence of the Advisor to the Prime Minister, Professor Dr. Yasar Ahmed Al-Sudani, the Director of the Department of Oral and Dental Health at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Khorshid, the Honorable, and Professor Dr. Amin Abdul Hassan Mani’ Al-Alwani, the Honorable, Dean of the College of Medicine, representing the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Insaf. And the Dean of the College of Medicine, Al-Kindi, Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Eidani, the Honorable, and the Dean of the College of Dentistry, University of Iraq, Professor Dr. Ghassan.
The ceremony was opened with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon, followed by the national anthem. The ceremony witnessed the screening of a documentary film highlighting the achievements of the college.
Professor Dr. Amin Abdul Hassan Mani’ Al-Alwani, Dean of the College of Medicine, representing the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, gave a speech congratulating the academic elites on this ceremony of reciting the medical oath, calling on students to commit to reciting the oath with all its words and meanings and to apply it as it is a sacred and sublime profession committed to human values, calling at the same time to preserve the reputation of the University of Baghdad and the prestigious position of the College of Dentistry, which has obtained high levels within global containers and classifications, and not to frustrate the determination regarding the central appointment, as the specialty provides a high-level therapeutic service in meeting the needs of the labor market, serving the community and spreading health awareness.
In a speech by the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashemi, he discussed the belief in the value of science as a means of advancement and development, and the importance of construction as a path to strengthening the foundations of society and achieving progress. He also referred to the various achievements of the college on the academic side, as it obtained full national accreditation and joined the European Dental Association (ADEE), and its scientific journal appeared in the “Scopus” database. The college also obtained first place in the Iraqi classification of our esteemed ministry for the year 2024. Among the most prominent achievements of the college is obtaining European international recognition for educational programs from the “LEADER PROGRAM” Foundation. He also praised the development of the infrastructure, as the laboratories were equipped with the latest technologies, smart halls and sports fields were established, in addition to modern monitoring systems. At the end of his speech, he thanked our prestigious university and our esteemed ministry for providing the appropriate academic environment that enabled us to achieve these achievements. The Director of Registration, Lecturer. Dr. Hassanein Qahtaan Abdul Khaliq, kindly announced the university order for graduation and granted them a Bachelor’s degree in Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery, followed by the graduates reciting the medical oath.
At the end of the ceremony, gifts were distributed to the top graduates. A number of respected figures were also honored by distributing shields in appreciation of their efforts in supporting and developing the College of Dentistry. The attendees expressed their pride in the great successes achieved by the college in the field of higher education and scientific research.
