The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled “Antibiotic Resistance in Microbes: History, Mechanisms, Therapeutic Strategies, and Future Prospects.” The workshop was delivered by Professor Zainab Abdul Jabbar and Assistant Professor Dr. Maha Fadhil Istifan, with the attendance of several faculty members from the college.
The aim of the workshop was to introduce participants to the history, strategies, needs, and drivers of antibiotic development, as well as new antibiotic technologies to combat the emerging threat of antibiotic resistance.
The workshop also included several topics addressing antibiotic resistance in microbes, the history of antibiotics, mechanisms, and therapeutic strategies used by antibiotics, as well as future prospects.
