Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled “Engineering the Apical Third of the Root” presented by Dr. Sinan Abdul Razzaq Al-Rubaie from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members and graduate students from the college.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of cleaning and sealing the root apex. It has been shown that the majority of root canal treatment failures are due to insufficient cleaning of the apical third of the root, which negatively impacts the effectiveness and sustainability of the treatment.
The workshop also included topics such as:
* Using the latest apical third cleaning techniques.
* The importance and benefits of comprehensive cleaning for the success of root canal fillings.
The workshop recommended the adoption of the latest technologies and keeping pace with recent developments in the field of root canal fillings to achieve the best treatment outcomes for patients.
