Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Raghad Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, and the supervision of the Head of the Department of Dental Treatment and Aesthetics, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Hamid Ali, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad hosted Professor Dr. Mohammad Hussein Nakfour from Tehran Medical School in Iran as an external examiner for doctoral students in the Department of Dental Treatment and Aesthetics. This visit is part of the college’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of higher education and advance academic and research programs.
Professor Mohammad Hussein Nakfour’s scientific visit included evaluating several research projects and scientific seminars for doctoral students in the Department of Dental Treatment and Aesthetics. He also actively participated in the Scientific Journal Club session for doctoral students. A complete clinical oral rehabilitation case presentation was evaluated, and a clinical assessment of the patient was conducted as part of the final examination requirements for doctoral students in the department. Professor Dr. Mohamed Hussein Nkufor also held a fruitful dialogue session with doctoral students, focusing on academic advising and guiding them in their research paths. He also visited the Examinations Office to review and evaluate sample questions and answers for students, as well as the procedures followed during postgraduate examinations.
In a related context, His Excellency met with the department’s scientific committee to discuss current and future doctoral projects and develop future plans to expand academic cooperation. He also contributed to reviewing the development of curricula and examination standards in coordination with the program coordinators, reflecting his commitment to supporting continuous improvement in the academic process.
Professor Dr. Nkufor delivered a valuable scientific lecture entitled “Peri-Apical Periodontal Lesions: From Pathogenesis to Expected Outcomes” during his participation in the 25th International Dental Congress, which received wide attention from the audience.
At the conclusion of his visit, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Dr. Nkufor in recognition of his distinguished scientific contributions to supporting the doctoral program in the Department of Dental Therapy and Aesthetics at the college. The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashemi, emphasized his continued commitment to attracting distinguished academic expertise and strengthening cooperation with local and international universities, in an effort to achieve scientific and research excellence in various fields of dentistry.
