Under the patronage of the respected Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar entitled “Addiction and Its Types.” The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ghada Ibrahim Taha and Lecturer Rasha Mohammed Shaker, and was attended by a number of faculty members of the college.
The seminar aimed to introduce the concept of addiction, its various types, and methods of prevention and reduction.
The seminar included several key topics, namely:
1. Concepts of addiction
2. Types of addiction
3. The concept of internet addiction
4. The effects of internet addiction
5. Methods of treating internet addiction
The seminar recommended the necessity of organizing specialized workshops to combat different types of addiction and reduce the risks of electronic addiction. It also emphasized the importance of unifying official, academic, and community efforts to address and monitor this phenomenon.
