A faculty member from the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, Dr. Lenz Ali Shalan, participated in the “Tad Talks” conference held at Qatar University on May 1, 2024. She was nominated by the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashemi, and the Presidency of the University of Baghdad to represent Iraq in this prestigious international event.

Dr. Lenz Ali Shalan delivered a lecture titled “How to Achieve Global Accomplishments During PhD Studies and How to Overcome Obstacles.” In her talk, she shared her experiences as a postgraduate student at the historic University of Baghdad, highlighting the challenges researchers may face and how to draw on their experiences to overcome these challenges and achieve academic excellence.

The lecture was attended by a large number of postgraduate and undergraduate students at Qatar University, in addition to the President of Qatar University, his deputies, and several prominent officials. The event also featured international lecturers from around the world, who presented specialized scientific lectures in their respective fields.

Dr. Lenz Ali Shalan was honored with a shield from Qatar University and a certificate of appreciation in recognition of her valuable contribution. Her lecture received significant engagement from the audience and the leadership of Qatar University, who praised Iraq’s major achievements in scientific research.

It is noteworthy that this marks Iraq’s first participation in the “Tad Talks” conference held in Qatar after nearly six previous sessions, reflecting international recognition of Iraqi academic and research efforts and their active contribution to the global scientific community.
