The regular meeting of the College of Dentistry Council at the University of Baghdad (session eleven) was held on Monday, December 16, 2024, under the chairmanship of the esteemed Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, with the attendance of the council members, including the assistant deans and heads of scientific departments.
The meeting witnessed distinguished participation with the presence of the President of Al-Azhar University in Gaza, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, as well as a number of Palestinian students. This was part of the “Study in Iraq” initiative launched by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasizing its importance in strengthening academic cooperation between Iraq and Arab countries.
The Dean stressed the significance of this initiative, reaffirming the college’s commitment to providing all forms of academic support and ensuring a learning environment that helps students achieve their scientific aspirations.
Agenda of the meeting included:
- Discussion of directives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
- Review of guidance from the Presidency of the University of Baghdad.
- Examination of proposals submitted by departments, academic affairs, student affairs, and administrative units.
- Adoption of decisions aimed at enhancing the college’s role in meeting labor market needs and ensuring the quality of education and scientific research.
This meeting comes within the framework of the regular sessions of the College of Dentistry Council to take appropriate decisions according to its agenda, in line with ministerial instructions, supporting the development of the educational and academic process in the college, and reinforcing its position as a leading center for higher education and scientific research in Iraq.
