College of Dentistry Organizes a Workshop on DNA Extraction Methods

Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Mohammed,
the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled “Mechanisms of Cell Death.” The workshop was delivered by Professor Dr. Batool Hassan Hashim, with the attendance of several faculty members.

Objective of the workshop:
To introduce participants to methods of DNA extraction.

Workshop highlights:

1. The importance of using DNA samples in human health studies within the field of molecular biology.
2. Techniques used for DNA extraction.

Recommendations:
The workshop emphasized that there are multiple methods for DNA extraction. The DNA extraction protocol involves breaking down cell membranes to release DNA, followed by separating DNA from impurities such as proteins and other substances.
