Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar entitled “Toxoplasmosis in Women”. The seminar was delivered by Prof. Dr. Fadia Abdul Mohsen and attended by a number of faculty members.

The seminar aimed to introduce participants to toxoplasmosis, the parasite responsible for the disease, and its health risks, particularly for women.

Key topics discussed included:

  • The causative parasite and its life cycle.
  • Modes of transmission and main sources of infection.
  • Clinical symptoms of the disease.
  • Diagnostic methods, prevention strategies, and treatment options.

The seminar concluded with several recommendations:

  1. Exercise caution when consuming meat outside the home, ensuring its source and proper cooking.
  2. Take care when raising domestic cats, with attention to hygiene.
  3. Seek medical testing when symptoms appear and adhere to prescribed treatment.
