Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar entitled “The Use of Nanoparticles in Targeted Drug Delivery Systems”. The seminar was delivered by Prof. Dr. Iman Ali Al-Rubaie and attended by a number of faculty members.
The seminar aimed to introduce participants to the use of nanoparticles in various drug delivery systems for the treatment of multiple diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer’s.
Key topics discussed included:
- Definition of nanoparticles.
- The urgent need for targeted drug delivery systems.
- Mechanisms of drug delivery using nanoparticles.
- Clinical applications.
- Challenges and future prospects of this approach.
The seminar concluded with recommendations highlighting the importance of conducting further scientific research on the use of nanoparticles in targeted drug delivery, in order to advance clinical medical applications.
