Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a seminar entitled “Renewable Energy and Its Potential in Iraq”. The seminar was delivered by Prof. Dr. Salem Jalloud Atiya and attended by a number of faculty members.
The seminar aimed to highlight the potential of renewable energy sources in Iraq and encourage a shift toward their adoption.
Key topics discussed included:
- Types of renewable energy.
- Sources of renewable energy in Iraq.
- Main challenges facing the utilization of renewable energy.
- Lessons learned from international experiences.
The seminar concluded with several recommendations:
- Recognize Iraq’s rich renewable energy resources and utilize them optimally.
- Encourage government, private sector, and citizens to adopt renewable energy as a healthier, environmentally friendly, and inexhaustible alternative.
- Leverage global expertise in renewable energy through investment.
- Facilitate loans for the private sector and citizens to support their transition toward renewable energy.
