Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar entitled “Asthma: Causes and Triggers”. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Najwan Mohammed Saeed and attended by a number of faculty members.
The seminar aimed to introduce participants to asthma, its causes, triggers, and preventive measures, as well as the importance of following medical guidelines to reduce disease progression and complications that may lead to fatal outcomes.
Key topics discussed included:
- Causes of asthma.
- Types of asthma.
- Factors that trigger asthma attacks.
- The role of nanotechnology in asthma treatment.
- Preventive measures against asthma.
The seminar concluded with recommendations emphasizing adherence to medical advice and preventive guidelines to reduce the severity of asthma. These included consulting a physician before using any new medication, informing healthcare providers about the condition to avoid prescribing triggering drugs, and considering safe alternatives when necessary—such as using paracetamol instead of aspirin.
