In recent months, the Journal of the College of Dentistry – University of Baghdad has witnessed remarkable progress in international scientific journal rankings, particularly within the global Scopus database. This advancement reflects the continuous efforts to improve the quality of published research and to strengthen the journal’s standing in the international scientific community.
Among the most notable indicators of progress is the improvement in the CiteScore, which rose from 1.0 to 1.9 — an increase of nearly 90%. This growth demonstrates the rising number of citations of the journal’s published research, highlighting its academic impact and growing presence among dental researchers. Additionally, the journal’s Percentile ranking improved from 54% to 73% within the Dentistry – Miscellaneous category, placing it among the top 27% of journals in this field.
As a result of these developments, the journal has advanced to the second quartile (Q2) in the scientific journal rankings for dentistry, a position that underscores its distinguished reputation in terms of research quality and scientific influence.
This achievement represents an important milestone not only for the journal but also for the College of Dentistry – University of Baghdad. It enhances the college’s academic standing regionally and internationally, attracts researchers and academics from various universities to submit their work, and opens broader horizons for academic and research collaboration with global scientific institutions.
