Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghd Abdulrazzaq Mohammed,
the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad — through the Scientific Affairs Unit — organized a specialized workshop entitled “Digital Dentistry.” The workshop was delivered by Dr. Dibshar Saken Al‑Noorji from Platinum Laboratory, with the attendance of several faculty members, postgraduate students, and undergraduate students.

The aim of the workshop was to introduce participants to the concept of digital dentistry and its modern applications in diagnosis, design, manufacturing, and clinical procedures, using the latest internationally adopted digital technologies. This contributes to developing the skills and competencies of dental professionals in handling advanced digital systems.

The workshop covered several key themes, including:

  1. Digital Dental Design using specialized software for designing restorations, crowns, and bridges with high precision.
  2. Intraoral 3D Scanning and its importance in saving time and improving clinical accuracy.
  3. 3D Printing and its role in manufacturing dental models and prostheses efficiently and quickly.
  4. Integration of Digital Systems into daily clinical practice to facilitate communication between dentists and laboratories and enhance treatment quality.

The workshop recommended the following:

  1. Encouraging students and faculty members to acquire digital skills and keep pace with modern developments in digital dentistry.
  2. Strengthening scientific collaboration between the college and specialized digital technology companies to provide continuous practical training.
