“Modern Dentistry: A Fundamental Pillar for Integrated Sustainable Development”
Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al‑Abboudi, and the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghd Abdulrazzaq Al‑Hashimi,
the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized the 18th Postgraduate Scientific Conference entitled “Modern Dentistry: A Fundamental Pillar for Integrated Sustainable Development” from December 3–4, 2025, at Dar Al‑Salam Hall in the college.
The conference was attended by the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghd Abdulrazzaq Al‑Hashimi, representing the President of the University of Baghdad, alongside the university’s Administrative Assistant, faculty members, and postgraduate students.
The opening program included a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, the reading of Al‑Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, Palestine, and Lebanon, followed by the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the University of Baghdad. The inauguration also featured documentary films showcasing the achievements of the College of Dentistry.
In his keynote address, Conference Chair Professor Dr. Raghd Abdulrazzaq Al‑Hashimi emphasized the importance of the conference in fostering communication and interaction among postgraduate researchers. He highlighted the academic and infrastructural progress achieved by the college, noting its direct impact on improving healthcare standards and advancing the well‑being of Iraqi society. He further stressed that embracing modern dentistry, with its advanced technologies and methods, constitutes a cornerstone for achieving integrated sustainable development — a vision the college seeks to realize through supporting scientific research, enhancing educational programs, and adopting cutting‑edge dental technologies.
The conference also honored distinguished faculty members and postgraduate students in recognition of their outstanding contributions to dentistry.
The scientific program included specialized lectures and research presentations by postgraduate students, along with a poster exhibition, reflecting the college’s scientific progress and active engagement in the field of dentistry.
