Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghd Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, and under the supervision of the Head of the Orthodontics Department, Professor Dr. Diaa Hussein Abd Aoun, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, represented by the Orthodontics Department and in cooperation with the Orthodontics Department at the University of Sulaimani, organized the First Scientific Seminar in Orthodontics entitled “Orthodontics: Excellence and Innovation.”
The seminar was attended by the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghd Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, the Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, a number of orthodontists from Iraq, as well as a lecturer from Chile.
In his speech, the Dean emphasized the importance of scientific and research collaboration with Iraqi universities, including the University of Sulaimani, as a fundamental pillar in enriching the academic and research landscape in Iraq. He highlighted the many achievements of the College of Dentistry, including its inclusion in the Shanghai Global Ranking, obtaining full national accreditation, joining the European Association for Dental Education, and ranking first locally in the Scimago Institutions Rankings. He affirmed that continued cooperation across various dental specialties with the University of Sulaimani reflects the spirit of solidarity and academic collaboration among Iraqi universities and represents a vital bridge for achieving progress and development in the field of dentistry.
The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of orthodontics and innovations in this field, promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise among dentists from Iraq and abroad, and review the latest developments and technologies in orthodontics.
The seminar included several key topics, including:
1. The importance of excellence in orthodontics and its role in improving quality of life.
2. Recent advancements in orthodontic techniques.
3. Innovations in the use of technology in orthodontic treatments.
