Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghd Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled:
“Types and Uses of References in Writing Scientific Researches and Papers.”
The lecture was delivered by Lecturer Dr. Hasnain Qahtan Abdulkhaliq and Lecturer Dr. Ali Nima Ahmed, with the attendance of a number of the college’s faculty members.
The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the different types of sources and how to use them in research.
The workshop included several key topics, including:
• Introducing the various types of sources and methods of obtaining them.
• Training participants on selecting appropriate and reliable sources relevant to their research topics.
• Teaching proper methods of using and citing sources according to scientific standards.
• Enabling participants to prepare accurate reference lists according to the required citation style.
• Introducing participants to specialized reference management software.
• Developing scientific research skills through practical applications and case studies.
• Answering participants’ questions and clarifying any ambiguities related to the workshop topic.
Key Recommendations for the Success of the Workshop:
• Providing a comprehensive summary of the workshop’s objectives and content to highlight its importance.
• Using an interactive and dynamic approach to engage participants.
• Presenting the content concisely and clearly while avoiding unnecessary details.
• Using examples and illustrative diagrams to facilitate understanding.
• Allocating sufficient time for questions, inquiries, and clarifications.
• Preparing a workshop summary that includes the key points for participants.
