Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Mohammed, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a training workshop entitled “Intra-Articular Injection of PRP and Hyaluronic Acid for Patients with Temporomandibular Joint Osteoarthritis.”

The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Amina Raihan Duaijil and PhD candidate Saba Radi, and was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students of the College.

The workshop aimed to compare two treatment methods for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) osteoarthritis: Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections and hyaluronic acid injections.

The workshop included several key topics, such as:
• An overview of TMJ osteoarthritis, including its causes, symptoms, and associated complications.
• Common treatment approaches for the condition.
• A comparison between PRP and hyaluronic acid in terms of their therapeutic advantages, strengths, and limitations.

The presenters emphasized the importance of treating TMJ osteoarthritis, identifying effective therapeutic methods, and conducting further research to compare the efficacy of different treatment modalities.
